About

Ina S. Oyler, a native of Idaho, had long been known as one of the leading artists in the Northwest. Oyler had a reputation as a dedicated artist and she approached each new canvas with enthusiasm, honesty and an urge to create a piece of work having artistic significance.

Oyler studied with well-known artists, including Wyoming artist, Conrad Schwiering and Australian impressionist, Hayward Veal. She was a founding member of the Idaho Falls Art Guild (1948). Oyler received numerous awards for her artwork. Her paintings were on display at the Jackson Lake Lodge gallery since the early 1960’s. Her work was also on display at the Rutherford Galleria in San Carlos, Mexico, where her paintings were shown for over 20 years.

For many years, Oyler presented demonstrations and workshops throughout the West but eventually devoted her full time to painting. She traveled the world with her husband, Robert, studying, sketching and acquiring inspiration for her artwork.

The Oylers would spend their winters on the coast of the Sea of Cortez in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. During the summer months they would return to their home in Southeastern Idaho, near the magnificent Grand Teton mountains, which were the focus of many of Oyler’s paintings.
